Kim Chiu celebrates 18th year in showbiz: 'Just thankful for this beautiful journey'
Kim Chiu is over the moon as she crossed her 18th year in the showbiz industry.
On her Instagram account, the actress took the time to celebrate her 18th year as an actress last June 3 by penning a heartfelt message to her official fanbase, Kim Chiu Global (KCG). She accompanied this with some throwback pictures of her early days in her career.
She also included a video of her reaction to an LED billboard organized by her fanbase that gathered all of her achievements, including being the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen winner, having 12 teleseryes, 54 television projects, 20 blockbuster films, 29 hit songs, and receiving more than 125 awards, among others.
"I am out of words, but I am just thankful for this beautiful journey. Special thank you to my Team KCG family for reminding me that day and for taking the time, effort, love, and unconditional support you’ve given me through the years. Grabe pa surprise niyo that day," Kim wrote.
"I am fortunate to have people like you in my showbiz career. I am getting or receiving something like this, and you are asking nothing in return. Through ups and downs, you’ve been with me," she added.
Kim went on to thank her fans for making her feel "loved, wanted, and appreciated."
"Eighteen years in the business, I am thankful for the trust this colorful, shiny, wonderful world has given me. Sa lahat po ng sumusuporta at nag titiwala maraming salamat po," the actress highlighted.
"To the people I’ve met and worked with for the past 18 years, maraming salamat po! Cheers to more years to come!" she ended.
Kim rose to fame after winning the first teen edition of Pinoy Big Brother back in 2006. While she initially only played supporting roles in several television shows in her early days, she eventually broke through as she was paired with Gerald Anderson in a love team.
Their notable projects include Sana Maulit Muli, I've Fallen For You, and Tayong Dalawa. After their love team ended, she ventured into more dramatic and comedic roles such as The Healing, Bride for Rent, Etiquette for Mistresses, and One Great Love.
Kim has been serving as a host for the noontime program It's Showtime since 2020. Her most recent project is the Philippine adaptation of the South Korean series What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, where she is paired with Paulo Avelino.
