'Never thought I would love a passport photo': Elliot Page looks dapper in first passport photo since coming out
Elliot Page has welcomed a new milestone in his journey as a transgender man: loving how you look in your passport photo.
The Umbrella Academy star took to Instagram to share his new passport photo donning a black shirt and silver chain necklace. In the shot, Elliot looks cool, calm, collected, and ready to travel in style.
"Never thought I would love a passport photo," the actor wrote.
This isn't the first time the 35-year-old opened about his many firsts since coming out in 2020. Through social media, he has been updating his fans of finding out new joys, such as wearing a suit to the Met Gala and Oscars, joining a dating app, and many more.
His friends and supporters soon flooded Page's passport photo. Apart from the usual heart and fire emojis, actress Carol Marra wrote, "A beautiful photo for even more beautiful trips."
"Passport agent: 'Welcome to our country, you stone fox,'" quipped scriptwriter and novelist Kirsten Smith
Meanwhile, Umbrella Academy executive producer Jeff king also said that the ID photo was a "keeper."
Like many of his friends and family in Hollywood, Umbrella Academy was quick to accept Page's coming-out journey. In the Netflix series, they had immediately changed his deadname in the credits and designated his character from Vanya to Viktor Hargreeves.
Elliot came out as trans back on December 1, 2020, and shared that his pronouns are he/they.
"I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community," he wrote. "Thank you for your courage, your generosity and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place. I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society."
In March of the following year, he graced the cover of Time's March-April issue, serving as the first transgender man to appear on the cover in the magazine’s 100-year history.
