Xian Lim hopes for more film projects with girlfriend Iris Lee
Xian Lim is keen on doing more film projects with his girlfriend Iris Lee after working with her for the first time in their horror film Kuman Thong.
On the heels of their film's red carpet premiere on July 1, Xian took to his Instagram account to sing praises to his "talented, overly passionate" partner for her effort in their collaborative project.
"Hardworking is an understatement when it comes to the effort you put in all your projects, may it be with me or all the great directors you have worked with," the actor wrote.
"Our [film] would not be the way it is now if it weren't for you juggling the logistics in the [Philippines] and [Thailand], plus the creative side of Kuman Thong," he added.
He went on to share that when all seemed impossible, Iris "believed, pushed, carried everyone and went through great lengths and created magic."
"To more films with you," Xian ended.
Kuman Thong is directed by Xian, serving as his third directorial film after 2019's psychological thriller Tabon and 2023's fantasy comedy Hello, Universe. He also directed an episode of GMA Network’s Wish Ko Lang in 2022.
Iris meanwhile serves as producer and co-writer of the project, which was shot entirely in Thailand.
The film follows a mother who turns to the Thai occult tradition of kuman thong, which is a household divinity that holds the trapped spirit of an unborn child, in an attempt to connect with her son who died from an accident. This soon proves deadly she and her daughter start to get haunted by the sinister spirit of their deceased family member.
It stars Cindy Miranda, Althea Ruedas, Max Nattapol, Jariya Therakaosal, and Emman Esquivel.
Xian officially confirmed his romance with Iris in May after sparking dating rumors in December 2023.
“Just to clear everything, to clear all the speculations. We are seeing each other and we are very happy,” he said in his interview on Esquire Philippines’ May 2024 cover story, adding that Iris is his producer and creative partner.
He also clarified that they started dating after his split with Kim Chiu—whom he was with for almost 12 years—refuting rumors that a third party was involved in the cause of his split with the latter.
Kuman Thong premiered in local cinemas on July 3.
