Julia Barretto receives a Cartier gift from Gerald Anderson for her 27th birthday
Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto received a Cartier gift from her boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, for her 27th birthday.
The local actor shared a video of his surprise gift to his girlfriend on Instagram which showed Julia embracing Gerald upon receiving the gift.
In case you didn't know, Cartier is a French luxury goods conglomerate that designs, manufactures, distributes, and sells jewelry, leather goods, and watches. It is regarded as one of the most prestigious jewelry manufacturers worldwide.
Some of Julia's relatives and fellow celebrities, including Ruffa Gutierrez and Kyle Echarri, attended the event.
The event came after Julia had shut down breakup rumors between her and Gerald during her guest appearance in a recent episode of Magandang Buhay.
One of its hosts, Melai Cantiveros opened the topic of breakups and asked whether Julia is affected when users on the internet speculate that they have split.
Airing her ill feelings about this, the actress said, “Parang ganun ang balita, every month for how many years na talaga. Hindi ko rin alam saan nanggagaling.”
She then shared that she eventually learned to just look at the brighter side of things and how she and Gerald are able to protect the privacy in their relationship.
“I think I’ll just take it as a compliment. I guess we're able to create that private bubble of ours na hindi na nila alam masyado kung ano ang nangyayari sa partnership namin,” she said.
“I think it's a conscious effort on our end na talagang protektahan, na hindi kailangang mag-over share, hindi dapat bawat galaw kailangan alam ng lahat, so siguro that's why they think [na break na kami],” she added.
Julia assured viewers, however, that she and Gerald are "happy" with each other at this moment.
Meanwhile, the couple has been open about the concept of marriage ever since. But according to Julia, they are not "rushing into things."
"I don't think that it's a question that should be asked constantly. When the time comes, it comes," Julia said.
"I don't know why everybody is rushing us. I'm really happy where we are right now... You'll just find out one day," she added.
Gerald, for his part, expressed his readiness to settle down with Julia during a March interview with Korina Sanchez, saying that Julia would be the one he would eventually marry.
“Alam mo yung kasabihan na ‘You just know.’ Ang hirap mag-explain, e, iba yung feel. Iba yung feel,” the actor said.
“You feel na nag-iiba or mas nag-iiba yung priorities mo or mas naging malinaw sa’yo yung priorities mo,” he added.
Gerald and Julia ignited dating rumors for a few months after their 2019 movie Between Maybes came out. The actor eventually confirmed their relationship in an interview with Boy Abunda in March 2021.
