Kim Soo Hyun files additional charges against Kim Sae Ron’s family, YouTuber
Kim Soo Hyun has filed an additional criminal complaint for false accusation against Kim Sae Ron's family and Kim Se-ui, the operator of the Garo Sero Institute YouTube channel.
On Monday, June 23, Soo Hyun's agency, Goldmedalist, announced that their lawyer, Bang Sung-hun of L.K.B & Partners, had filed additional charges. Korea JoongAng Daily reported that these charges stem from accusations made by Sae Ron's family and Se-ui during their May 7 press conference.
Bang claims that Se-ui played a fabricated voice recording of a supposed witness to Soo Hyun and Sae Ron's romance when the latter was still a minor. At the time, the witness claimed that Soo Hyun tried to bribe them for their testimony with 4 billion won (P166 million). When they refused the offer, Soo Hyun allegedly attempted to have the witness killed by a hitman.
"Kim Se-ui and the family of late actor Kim Sae-ron not only wrongly framed Kim Soo-hyun based on a fabricated piece of voice recording, but they even reported him for violating the Child Welfare Act in a clear move of false accusation," said Bang in a press release.
"Fabricating evidence is a grave crime and making a criminal report based on such fabricated evidence is even heavier. We have made a swift report against Kim Se-ui and the family of late actor Kim Sae-ron and we will continue our efforts to see that they are legally and rightly punished," the statement continued.
On May 7, Se-ui and the family of Sae-ron filed a legal complaint against Soo-hyun for false accusation and violating the Child Welfare Act, alleging that he dated Sae Ron when she was a minor.
Meanwhile, Soo Hyun and his agency filed a defamation complaint against two parties.
Per the outlet, the actor received court approval to seize Kim Se-ui's apartments. Soo Hyun's house was also seized at "the request of one of the advertisers that the actor was contracted with."
Soo Hyun's agency denied dating rumors with Sae Ron twice, first in March 2024 and in March of this year. It was only on March 14 when he finally confirmed they dated, but clarified that it did not happen when Sae Ron was just 15 years old and Soo Hyun was 28.
