Being alone doesn't mean we’re craving some company. Sometimes, we just really need to spend time discovering more of ourselves.

Now that everything is moving forward to the new normal, a lot of people may be ecstatic to meet each other, but for some, they find solace in being by themselves, and that’s not something to be ashamed of! It’s okay and completely normal.

Even celebrities, who are almost constantly in front of the camera and talking to people, sometimes prefer being alone and exploring places with their own company.

If you’re looking for a sign to go on a solo trip, these Filipina celebrities will inspire you to give it a go to know yourself more.

Kim Chiu

Kim Chiu often shares her adventures abroad through her vlog series, #KIMadvenCHIUres. Although she was not entirely alone during her latest trip to New York, she made sure to have some "me time" wherein she could have some peace and quiet.

Kim shared this in an Instagram post last earlier this month where she is soon enjoying her food in a food spot in Brooklyn.

I used to think I was introverted because I enjoyed being alone but it turns out I really like being at peace with myself and my surroundings and I am extremely extroverted with people who bring me comfort and happiness. So I guess I'm an ambivert” she wrote on her post.

The It's Showtime host also revealed that she used her camera's timer to shoot her photos!

Liza Soberano

After switching talent managers, Liza took the leap and started her potential career in America where she found new opportunitues she never experienced before.

According to an ABS-CBN news report, the actress shared that in a month of living alone, she felt like a “full independent” adult as she needed to make decisions for herself.

"It really made me feel older because I was literally doing everything on my own. Before I would always travel with Enrique (Gil) and my family and I would always have people assisting me with where to go, what to do, and everything," the actress said. "On this trip, I kinda had to make decisions on my own. I had to take care of myself on my own, and it was fun. It was a really fun experience."

Maxene Magalona

Still not convinced that solo trips are equally fun as group travels? Check out Maxene Magalona's enviable Instagram feed featuring some of her "me time" around town.

On Valentine's Day this year, the 35-year-old actress took a dayslong "solo healing trip" to Vivere Azure resort and hotel in Anilao, Batangas.

"This is how I love myself. By seeing and embracing myself with all honesty and zero BS. I hold space for myself as I bring up my shadows and integrate my darkness with my light because I know that no one else will do this heart work for me BUT me," Maxene said in an Instagram post on Feb. 16.

Prior to her Batangas trip, the actress took a solo trip to Baguio to reflect more on her life while practicing a positive mindset. Maxene also shared with her followers how meditation has been key to her decision-making.

"Meditation helps me become more mindful, conscious and present. It allows me to have clear and true intentions that aid in my decision-making. It was through this ancient practice that I was able to make the conscious decision to go on a road trip to Baguio so that I could spend time in nature, nourish my soul and raise my vibration. Whenever our frequency feels low and our energy is depleted, we need to consciously make better choices so that we can bring ourselves into alignment," the actress wrote in an Instagram post on Jan. 16.

"In the end, it’s always about perspective. Your outer world is a reflection of your inner state of being," she continued. "Change your mindset, change your life."

Maxene's Baguio trip will surely make you realize that you can get more out of life when you spend time away reflecting on yourself away from the hustles and bustles of the metro and everyone around you.

Megan Young

Even Megan Young, who we usually see traveling with her other half, Mikael Daez, took a solo trip to New York this year. Although she admitted to missing her travel buddy, the actress said that she’s happy to reach places she couldn’t visit during her reign as Miss World, like museums and other tourist attractions.

"Noong nag travel ako para sa Miss World, laging tinatanong sa akin kung ano ung favorite part ko about visiting another country. Kadalasan, nandoon lang kami para sa trabaho... pero sa minsan na pwede along lumabas at mag explore, lagi kong gustong pumunta ng museum," the beauty queen wrote on her Instagram post last June.

"For this trip, as Whitney Museum naman ako nag punta. Na enjoy ko ang solo time ko dito - kahit namimiss ko si Fofo," she added.

Yassi Pressman

Yassi Pressman constantly shares pieces of her life on her Youtube channel for her fans and other people to get to know her more. Her solo trip to Palawan in 2019 made her audience discover a new version of herself as she reflected on her experience.

"This experience made me learn so much, not only about the place and the beautiful islands of El Nido, Palawan, but also about myself. I had so much time to reflect, to appreciate, to pray and be grateful and think about how to take care of myself even more and, of course, to take care of the environment," the actress says as she wraps up her vlog.

Yassi also revealed that her spontaneous solo trip is something that gives her joy as it is also one of the things she has always wanted to do.
