Francine Diaz dazzles at Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2024, apologizes for saying 'Tomorrow Times Together'
Francine Diaz showed off her charm as she made an appearance at the first-ever Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA).
The Filipina actress presented an award at the show held at the Yokohama Arena in Japan last April 10.
ASEA 2024 was attended by rising stars and the brightest music artists in Asia including Treasure, Tomorrow X Together, JO1, Stray Kids, Stayc, Billlie, and many more.
Francine walked on the red carpet wearing a dazzling long red tube gown made by Anthony Ramirez with her long sleek dark hair down highlighting her simple yet classy and elegant aura.
Francine presented the award for the ASEA Global K-Pop Leader. She was introduced by Kwon Yuri from K-pop girl group Girl’s Generation and Taecyeon from boy group 2PM.
She went on stage confidently glowing wearing a white one-shoulder dress with her wavy hair down.
Before presenting the award, she introduced herself and said that it was an honor to be invited to global awards.
“While watching these amazing musicians’ performances, I can’t help but dream to collaborate with them in the future. As much as winning the hearts of the fans all over the world, the power of Asian musicians is truly incredible,” she said.
'Multiplying awards'
When the time for giving the award came, Francine mispronounced the winner's name. Instead of reading Tomorrow X Together (TXT) as "Tomorrow by Together," the Pinay actress said "Tomorrow Times Together."
This mistake received warm feedback on X, formerly Twitter, where fans joked about how the group was multiplying their awards.
The group took home four awards, including ASEA the Platinum, ASEA Artist of the Year, and ASEA The Best Performance.
One X user said, “I believe Francine Diaz manifested TXT to make hakot ng awards when she said "tomorrow TIMES together" because the trophies keep on multiplying.”
“Francine saying 'Tomorrow Times Together' feels like a premonition to multiple awards. Look [at how] TXT just received their 4th ASEA award this night," another added.
Admirers of the actress also hoped that her unintentional mistake wouldn’t be taken against her
TXT fans assured that the mistake was not taken badly.
“As a MOA [TXT fan], I find it really cute HAHAHAHAH. She is now our lucky charm... the way she manifested for 4 awards for TXT last night," a TXT fan said.
Francine has also issued an apology to the group and fans in an Instagram live.
"I'm very sorry for that very big mistake. Pagpasensyahan niyo na ako at 'di na ako ganun ka-updated sa mga nangyayari ngayon sa K-pop world," she said. "Alam niyo naman po ako, dalawang grupo lang sti-na-stan ko."
