'All in': KC Concepcion shares fitness routine
KC Concepcion is fully committed to her fitness journey.
The actress-entrepreneur gave a look at her fitness routine on Instagram on Monday, Oct. 14, sharing a carousel post of her doing various exercises.
“All in with my fitness routine,” she wrote in the caption.
The post included low-impact workouts like pilates—a form of strength training that focuses on core strength, flexibility, and balance.
She also did Ashtanga yoga, a form of yoga that has a set of sequences at six levels. Its full routine, called the "primary series," is done for 90 minutes, with each pose having a corresponding breathing rhythm, as per the Cleveland Clinic. Other than its physical benefits, this exercise also helps in stabilizing one’s mind and mood.
Other than doing workouts, KC also shared she did a cold plunge that's known to help with muscle recovery, boosting of immune system, and stress resistance.
The actress also stayed in a sauna, which has been found to be helpful in reducing stress, pain relief, and improving cardiovascular health and the immune system, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
KC first shared that she has returned to her fitness journey in September “after years of not doing so.
“Do what your future self will surely thank you for,” she said in an Instagram post.
The entrepreneur has been a consistent champion of body positivity. In 2020, she opened up about getting body-shamed in the past and how she has learned to make her curves shine each day.
“I used to get body-shamed when I went on my 3-year hiatus for not having that Asian, stick thin body (for an Asian like me), and many women like me get affected by this mentally, emotionally, and physically,” she said at the time.
“Going through a pandemic and realizing the big picture issues of the world, I realized life is to be celebrated, and enjoyed,” she continued. "Like, why would I choose to develop an eating disorder over losing all the extra weight healthily? Why choose to lock myself up comparing myself to everyone else, when I could be dressing up for these fire feminine hips and that booty (that some girls even pay to have by the way)? Celebrate life. Tomorrow is not promised."
