Dennis Trillo finally broke his silence on his viral "May ABS pa ba?" comment that recently plunged him into controversy.

In an interview on GMA's 24 Oras, the actor was asked by entertainment reporter Nelson Canlas on whether he was affected by negative remarks from social media users who were offended by the comment made through his "hacked" TikTok account early this month.

"Ayokong magpaapekto dahil hindi naman totoo. Hindi naman totoo 'yung mga naririnig ko, 'yung mga nababasa kong mga comments dahil siyempre na-hack nga 'yung account ko," he said.

"Ako, sa 20 years ko sa industriya, wala po akong naging kaaway, wala akong pinagsalitaan nang masama," he continued.

When his comment earned the ire of the public, Dennis' management team Aguila Entertainment issued a statement explaining that his TikTok account had been breached by a hacker.

"There were some comments made using his name and we assure everyone that it was not his doing," Aguila said, adding that it's "very unlikely of Dennis to make such remarks."

Based on screenshots, a TikTok user asked Dennis about why his wife Jennylyn Mercado was absent in GMA Network's recently released Station ID. Jennylyn has been a Kapuso star for over two decades.

The user also asked if it's true that the actress is transferring to ABS-CBN.

"Kuya Dennis, sana masagot mo ito bakit wala si ma'am Jen sa GMA STATION ID at totoo ba na lilipat na siya sa ABS-CBN?" the user said.

"May ABS pa ba?" a response sent via Dennis' TikTok page read, which appeared to many as a jab against GMA's rival network.

The local star said he has nothing against the media giant. "Wala po akong anything against ABS-CBN. Mataas po ang respeto ko sa kanila, doon po ako nanggaling eh. Siyempre, 'yung respeto, importante po sa'kin 'yun kaya pinahahalagahan ko 'yan."

Despite the hateful comments thrown his way, Dennis said that he has no plans of entertaining them with a response in the same manner.

"Ako po ay hindi sasagot ng mga ganoong klaseng comments. Sa isang simpleng tanong, kaya kong sagutin yan with full respect, pero hindi sa ganoong manner," he said.

The comments in Dennis' post have since been deleted and replies have been limited.

His career in entertainment started in ABS-CBN in 2001 when he was introduced as part of the network's Star Circle (now known as Star Magic) batch 10 along with Bea Alonzo, Alfred Vargas, and TJ Trinidad. He eventually transferred to GMA Network where he rose to fame for his role in Mulawin.
