Trixie Mattel on PH school using her photo for grad pictorial don'ts: 'I think it was funny'

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 3 winner Trixie Mattel has cleared the air after a school in General Santos City used her photo to show students what not to do with their makeup for their graduation pictures.

ICYMI, Cronasia Foundation College made the rounds online as they shared their guidelines for graduation pictorial looks. Among these include do's and don'ts like wearing simple and light makeup and not donning "overloaded makeup." Under their don'ts, they used a photo of the American drag queen.

Trixie has since shared the photo of their guidelines to her social media accounts, captioning "dammmn" and  "A college is using my picture for this."

The post received mixed reactions, with some users finding it funny while others saying Trixie should go after the school.

"HAHAHA it's in the Philippines! Lol," Drag Race Philippines alum Eva Le Queen replied.

"The correct example," joked another Drag Race queen, Yuhua Hamasaki.

"I see grounds for defaming you. I'd sue," one user said.

"Make sure to clarify if you're okay with them using [your photo]," added another.

Cronasia's apology, Trixie's reaction

On Jan. 11, Cronasia issued an apology for their post as it "may have caused confusion and unintended frustration." They also said sorry to Trixie and the drag community as well as students and families.

"We acknowledge that the use of certain words and punctuation was our fault," it said in the statement.

But it's all in good fun for Trixie. She clarified that there was no harm done and that she even found it hilarious in a TikTok on Jan. 14.

"This is an example of 'Don't be more concerned than the people it concerns,'" she said. "I was not offended, I think it was funny. I love it. It didn't bother me at all."

Trixie also addressed the apology issued by Cronasia, saying that she thought the post was "hilarious."

"I don't think it was bad. I wouldn't recommend looking like me for graduation pictures either so thank you and love wins."

Trixie competed in the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race and won the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She hosts web series for World of Wonder and Netflix and has released studio albums as well as her own makeup line.
