Kris Aquino's friend says she's back to work amid health issues

Published Feb 15, 2025 10:27 am

Kris Aquino is returning to work for the first time since she started undergoing treatment for her multiple autoimmune diseases in 2022.

In an Instagram post, the actress' close friend Dindo Balares shared the good news that Kris is "back working."

"Sinubukan niya the other day," he said.

"But we all realized—one day of work means three days of bed rest," Dindo quoted Kris as saying.

Dindo, however, opted not to disclose any additional details about Kris' upcoming project. "Baka masabihan na naman ako ng, 'Kung minsan daldal ka rin, Kuya Dindo,'" he joked.

Kris previously teased that she has an upcoming show in the works that will allow viewers to "see the reality of Kris, Bimb, and my 'through the years' best friends (my extended family) and definitely my team of doctors who are now among my most trusted friends."

The good news comes after the Queen of All Media celebrated her birthday on Feb. 14, coinciding with Valentine's Day.

On her Instagram page, the local star expressed her gratitude for some of the gifts she received from her nearest and dearest for her special day, which included flowers and all sorts of stuffed teddy bears.

Kris also spent the day with her two sons, Josh and Bimby.

"I want to thank all my friends for taking time to greet me last night (asalto) and my friends from Orange County, who flew in. But above all—I thank you for being with me, Kuya Josh, and Bimb during my journey towards recovery," she wrote.

Kris returned to the Philippines in September 2024 after spending two years in the United States for medical tests and procedures. She is battling five or possibly six autoimmune conditions, three of which are life-threatening: Churg-Strauss syndrome, systemic sclerosis, and lupus.
