Katy Perry explains how she learned glitching 'doll eye' trick
Katy Perry has finally explained how her "glitching" eye came to be.
In a recent interview for Vogue's #LifeInLooks segment, the singer talked about her iconic "doll eye" and revealed how it works.
"I do this pose called doll eye. I can close one eye at a time and still maintain all function," Katy said.
She then traced how she developed this unusual trick.
"I have sat in a hair and makeup chair for 15 years. If they're putting eyeshadow on this eye and someone's putting my hair up into a French twist, I want to give notes in real-time," Katy recalled.
The Unconditionally singer demonstrated her asynchronous eye motion before winking at the audience before the video ended.

Katy's doll eye pose went viral in October 2022.
"Welcoming all my #flatearthers #spaceisfakers #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year!" she posted at the time.
Katy is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 143 million records sold worldwide, Guinness World Records to her name, and the only Billboard Spotlight Award among female artists as of writing. She is currently serving as a judge on American Idol.
