Catriona Gray shares holiday family photo, says Christmas 'hits different' this year
Catriona Gray spent Christmas with her family differently in Australia, the beauty queen said.
On Instagram, the host and singer explained why she posted their family picture late and why this year's celebration is different from the previous ones.
"It took me a while to think of a caption cause being together with my mum and dad for Christmas this year hits different," she wrote.
"It seems I've taken time for granted, always talking about 'next time,' the 'next christmas'...like it was guaranteed."
Gray said that she felt like she ran out of time when her dad was admitted in the hospital earlier this year, and that she's making up for time now.
"So being at home with them, dancing in our chairs to Elvis, giggling over a glass of wine and taking our evening walks... every moment feels like such a gift."
Gray then thanked God for allowing her to spend time with her family this holiday season. "This truly is the greatest gift I could've ever asked for."
In April, Gray returned to Australia to spend time with her dad who appeared to have been unwell after she posted a photo of her holding his dad's hand with a dextrose needle attached.
While she didn't disclose the reason of his hospitalization, the beauty queen wrote on Instagram that it "was one of the scariest times," but they are "out of the woods now."
“I can’t even express how grateful I am to God, and my family and friends who were praying alongside my family and I these last two weeks. Prayer is so powerful – my family’s story is a testament to that.”
