Billy Crawford wins 'Mask Singer' in France
Billy Crawford has won another reality competition in France.
The Filipino actor earned the top prize at Mask Singer, a French version of the South Korean show King of Mask Singer.
The ninth season of the show concluded on June 27, with Crawford in a donkey costume singing Michael Jackson's Beat It.
"Thank you, thank you to everyone," he said to the crowd in French as his identity was revealed. "I don't believe it, actually."
On Instagram, Billy described his run on the show as an "absolutely amazing experience." He even gave a glimpse into why he picked his costume.
"L'Ane (Donkey) was a very special character to me because I chose it with my son Amari in mind. I figured if he loved it, everyone else would too!" he wrote, referring to his child with Coleen Garcia. "Most of all, thank You, Lord God, for giving me the courage, strength, and opportunity to compete—and on top of that, to win!
Throughout the show, Billy as L'Ane performed Let's Get It Started by the Black Eyed Peas, Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown, and Le Portrait by Calogero.
Other contestants included actors and singers from all over the world, including Carla Lazzari, Plastic Bertrand, Anisha Jo, Sarah Schwab, Laurent Gamelon, Bruce Toissant, Dany Brillant, Pascal Légitimus, Worlds Apart, Michael Jones, Véronique Jannot, and Firmine Richard.
Crawford is no stranger to reality competitions, as he won the 12th season of Danse avec les Stars, France's version of Dancing with the Stars.
