'Modern Family' cast reunite three years after show ended
It's the family reunion of all family reunions!
The cast of the hit 2009 sitcom Modern Family had a get-together for the first time since the show ended more than three years ago.
In pictures shared by Sofia Vergara, who played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the beloved comedy show, the stars were all smiles as they posed for a group picture to mark their delightul gathering.
“First Modern Family Reunion!" Sofia wrote in the caption.
In the picture, Sofia posed next to her husband in the show, Ed O’Neill, and her son, Rico Rodriguez.
The Dunphy family, comprised of matriarch Julie Bowen, eldest daughter Sarah Hyland, and son Nolan Gould, were also there to liven up the party.
Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who play as a same-sex couple, were also present together with their onscreen daughter Aubrey Anderson-Emmons.
While the reunion was not complete as Ty Burrell, who played Phil Dunphy, was unfortunately unable to attend the event, his onscreen daughter Ariel Winter made sure that his presence was still known by holding up his photo in the front of the group.
In a separate Instagram video, the cast all poked fun at Ty's absence by placing his picture above the fireplace and yelling "We miss you, Ty!", making it seem like he's deceased.
In fact, it even fooled some of Sofia's followers.
"I thought Phill died, I almost had a mini heart attack," one user wrote.
Another one commented, "I had to check Google to make sure he didn’t die."
After premiering in 2009, Modern Family ran for 11 seasons until it reached its conclusion in 2020. The show follows the lives of three diverse families who are interrelated through their patriarch, Jay Pritchett.
The show was highly acclaimed by critics, and this has earned them several recognitions, including a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe award.
