Indie director Jeff Baena, Aubrey Plaza's husband, passes away at 47

American screenwriter and film director Jeff Baena, who was also married to actress-comedienne Aubrey Plaza, has died. He was 47.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Baena's body was discovered by an assistant on Friday, around 10:30 a.m. local time, at a Los Angeles residence.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner said that Baena's death was "ruled a suicide by hanging."
Baena graduated with a degree in film from New York University. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue directing.
He was known for writing and directing various hit American films, including Life After Beth (2014), Joshy (2016), The Little Hours (2017), Horse Girl (2020), and Spin Me Round (2022), to name a few.
Additionally, Baena also co-wrote the 2004 black comedy film I Heart Huckabees, which starred Dustin Hoffman, Jason Schwartzman, and Lily Tomlin, among others.
In 2021, he got married to Plaza after a decade of dating and have mostly kept their relationship private.
