Mark Leviste on Kris Aquino's PH return: 'Alam ko na gagawin niya ang lahat upang hindi sumuko'
Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste is elated that his former partner Kris Aquino is finally back in the Philippines amid her battle with multiple autoimmune diseases.
In a statement published on his Facebook stories, the politician expressed his happiness over the multimedia personality's return to her home country after spending two years in the United States for medical tests and procedures.
"I am glad that Kris is finally home, and I'm equally happy for her family, friends, and fans that our Queen is back at long last," he wrote. "However, it breaks my heart to see someone I deeply care about facing such a difficult battle."
Mark went on to praise the "Queen of All Media" for her strength and resilience, which he shared have always amazed him.
"Alam ko na gagawin niya ang lahat upang hindi sumuko, at patuloy na lumaban at protektahan ang kanyang kalusugan," he wrote.
"As Kris prepares for her second immunosuppressant infusion and spends time with her sisters and relatives, I pray for her healing, comfort, and peace. Now, more than ever, she needs the unwavering love and support of her loved ones," he added.
Mark assured that he and his three children will always be there to support her and offer all the encouragement that they can.
Mark and Kris were in an on-and-off relationship in 2023 and eventually put an end to their romance due to Kris' health concerns. Her youngest son Bimby also confirmed that she and Mark have been over since her birthday last Feb. 14.
While Kris said she has no plans of reuniting with Mark, she noted they are still on "friendly" terms.
She's now in a relationship with a doctor based in the Makati, whom Bimby described as a "very good guy." Mark also expressed her support for Kris and her boyfriend, assuring that whatever makes her happy makes him "very happy" as well.
"Nalulungkot man ako sa sinapit ng aming relasyon, maligaya parin ako para sa kanya," he said in a statement sent to The Philippine STAR. "I have always put her happiness before my own."
Kris returned to the Philippines earlier this week as she needs to start her second immunosuppressant infusions.
"Emotionally, I need the encouragement and unwavering faith my sisters and cousins, closest friends, and trusted team of doctors can provide. Sadly, what was the battle to improve my health is now the struggle to protect my vital organs. This is now the fight of my life," she said.
Apart from four confirmed autoimmune diseases, Kris is also suffering from lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
