Vanessa Hudgens slams paparazzi for invading her privacy and leaking photos of her newborn
Vanessa Hudgens expressed her disappointment at the paparazzi for invading her family's privacy by sharing photos of her newborn baby and announcing the latter's birth before she could.
The High School Musical star addressed the issue in her Instagram story days after news outlets leaked photos of her leaving the hospital with her baby in her arms.
"We're disappointed that our family's privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media," Vanessa wrote.
"Despite all of that, mom, dad, and baby are happy and healthy," she noted.
While the actress didn't specify the media outlet she was referring to, TMZ was one of the first to report that she had welcomed her first child with her husband, MLB player Cole Tucker.
The article also included the paparazzi photos, which showed Vanessa and Cole leaving a Santa Monica hospital on July 3—the same day as Cole’s birthday. They were also assisted by a nurse and a companion going to their car.
Other international news outlets latter carried the same reports on her successful pregnancy, including PEOPE, Daily Mail, and E! News.
The couple first sparked dating rumors in 2020 when they were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles, before officially going “Instagram official” on Valentine’s Day in 2021.
They got engaged in early 2023 and officially tied the knot in December of the same year in Mexico.
Vanessa announced her pregnancy during the 2024 Academy Awards ceremony on March 11 (Philippine time), where she showed up on the red carpet donning a black long-sleeved, floor-length dress that highlighted her baby bump.
The Fil-American actress rose to fame for her role in Disney’s High School Musical series.
She also starred in movies like The Princess Switch, Bad Boys for Life, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and Tick, Tick… Boom!
