Gretchen Ho's Instagram post takes flight as ex Robi Domingo ties the knot; says it's about 'career realizations'
Gretchen Ho has moved on and is happy for her ex-boyfriend Robi Domingo and his wife Maiqui Pineda.
On Jan. 7, Gretchen took to X to clarify a post she had made on the same day her ex-boyfriend got married.
The 33-year-old television presenter had previously shared a quote on her Instagram stories that made some social media users second-guess the context.
The quote read, “Things don't come to us once we are ready, they tend to arrive early. Right when we are not sure of our capacity to fulfill them. And that's the acceptance of the challenge. The ability to trust ourselves to figure it out as we go. To navigate new waters and learn along the way."
Gretchen felt the need to clarify her tweet after a screenshot got reposted by one of the X users saying, “Felt sad for her,” concerned about the intent behind her non-malicious post being about Robi and Maiqui’s marriage.
Hi, sorry, couldn’t help but clear this up.

My post on my IG stories was about some career realizations. I was off-grid for most of the day (camping) so I didn’t really know.
Re: wedding, I am very and completely happy for Robi and Maiqui! 😊 We are good friends! 🤍
“Hi, sorry, couldn’t help but clear this up. My post on my IG stories was about some career realizations. I was off-grid for most of the day (camping) so I didn’t really know,” the journalist replied.
She added: “Re: wedding, I am very and completely happy for Robi and Maiqui! We are good friends!”
Gretchen and Robi first began dating back in 2012. They announced their break-up in a joint statement in March 2017, saying they needed to "focus on their careers."
"There is too much happening for the both of us right now," the statement said. "We have to focus on our careers. There is no appropriate time yet for a relationship to grow. But we're not closing our doors on each other in the future."
In 2018, Robi and Maiqui officially became a couple. They got engaged four years later in Shibuya, Tokyo.
