Rhian Ramos, Michelle Dee accused of illegal detention, torture

Actresses Rhian Ramos and Michelle Dee, along with a fellow beauty queen, have been accused of serious illegal detention and torture in a complaint filed by Ramos’ driver and personal assistant. The complainant alleges the ordeal was sparked by his purported possession of sensitive photographs.

In his interview with TV Patrol, the complainant, alias "Totoy," said that he was detained for three days in a condo unit after he was accused of stealing Ramos' sensitive photos.

"Dami po ginawa sa 'kin, pinarusahan niya ako, hinubaran niya ko, binuhusan niya ko ng alcohol," he told the outlet.

After the alleged assault, Totoy said he jumped from the window, which was 39 floors high. However, he said that Ramos' two bodyguards caught him and brought him back to the unit.

The group escorted him into police custody, where the complainants filed a formal charge of qualified theft through the Makati Office of the Prosecutor.

Totoy was detained but was released on Jan. 22 after the prosecutor's office dismissed the complaint.

In a statement sent to PhilSTAR L!fe, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, legal counsel for Dee and Ramos, denied the illegal detention accusation.

"Our clients have not received a copy of the complaint allegedly filed against them before the NBI. They will answer as soon as they received the copy of said complaint," the statement read.

"As far as our client is concerned there is no incident of illegal detention happened as Mr. Baro was a resident of the condo, being the driver of Rhian.

"The last incident of our clients with Mr. Baro was when Michelle Dee filed a criminal case for qualified theft against him which he admitted and he even returned some of the items to Michelle," it added.

"Thus, our clients cannot think of any reason for initiating this complaint but a leverage and vindictive suit to said qualified theft case."

The other accused beauty queen is yet to address the matter as of this writing.
