Police identify person of interest in disappearance of beauty queen Catherine Camilon

Authorities have identified a person of interest in the disappearance of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon for almost two weeks now.

According to GMA News, Police Regional Office 4A is currently gathering information in line with the case.

"Tuloy-tuloy pa din po ang pangangalap ng impormasyon para mas matukoy po 'yung pagkakakilanlan ng POI," said PRO 4A Public Information Office chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Chitadel Gaoiran.

In a Facebook post on Oct. 13, Catherine's sister Chin-Chin called on the beauty queen's colleague who was with her the night before she went missing to help them reach her. Chin-Chin said Catherine called at 8 p.m. on Oct. 12, but her phone went dead the next morning.

Chin-Chin wrote more posts about her sibling, including her car's model and plate number. She also shared a poster indicating Catherine's age (26), height (5'6"), and their mother's mobile number.

Catherine, who hails from Toy in Batangas, was last spotted in a shopping mall in Lemery on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m., hours before she was reported missing. She, however, last told her mother Rosario that she was at a gasoline station in Bauan.

The beauty queen said she’d go to Batangas City for a meeting with Balisong Channel, an online media company where she was a former talent. But Balisong Channel said Catherine didn't visit its office and was last there on Dec. 13, 2021.

Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste is offering a P100,000 reward to anyone who has information about Catherine’s whereabouts.

The Philippine Coast Guard is also coordinating with the Philippine National Police to search for her.

Catherine joined Miss Grand Philippines last July, during which Nikki De Moura of Cagayan de Oro won the crown.

Aside from being a beauty queen, Catherine is also a public school teacher in Tuy.
