Pia Wurtzbach to auction off Miss Universe silver dress, sashes, and more this December
Want to own some valuable memorabilia from the one and only Miss Universe 2015 titleholder?
Pia Wurtzbach has announced that she is set to auction off some of the clothes and accessories she used back when she was still aspiring for the coveted Miss Universe crown.
Among the items to be put up for sale this December is her silver dress that she wore when she was announced as a Top 15 finalist. The off-shoulder attire reaches just above the knee and consists of elegant beads and a sequin skirt.
Also in the mix are her vast array of sashes that date all the way back to when she was still a candidate at Binibining Pilipinas up until Miss Universe, as well as her notebooks containing all her thoughts and notes that helped her become the winning queen she is today.
Pia's exclusive auction dubbed "Love Gala, Eternal Elegance: A Night of Timeless Love" will take place on Dec. 3.
"I’m excited about the exclusive auction I will host featuring iconic memorabilia from my journey as Miss Universe 2015," Pia said in an Instagram post.
"All proceeds from the auction will support the Youth Center for Taguig, which will provide vital services addressing the challenges faced by our youth," she noted.
According to her, the center will create a safe space for young people to access education, prevention, and treatment related to HIV.
"The City of Taguig is committed to prioritizing HIV through its various initiatives in the STI, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program. I can’t wait for this highly anticipated event. Mark your calendars—this is definitely something to look forward to! Para sa ating lahat ito," the beauty queen highlighted.
Pia previously teased her upcoming auction in a March interview with PhilSTAR L!fe as she talked about her hopes of being remembered for more than just her crown.
"What I really want is to leave a lasting impression on people not just as a Miss Universe winner, but also with the work that I've done after Miss Universe. I'm still very much active in my advocacies," she said.
"[The youth center] will be my goal for next year since it's going to be my 10th year anniversary. It's great that we get to do something like this," she added.
Pia won Binibining Pilipinas in 2015 on her third attempt. She then represented the Philippines and won Miss Universe 2015, becoming the first Filipina to take home the highly coveted Miss Universe crown in four decades.
