Worried your pocket money isn't enough during your international travels? You can now opt for a hassle-free, cashless payment method as GCash is now accepted in Asia's top travel destinations, including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The cross-border payment, announced on Oct 19, is made possible through the e-wallet's collaboration with Alipay+.

Travelers in South Korea can go cashless when they make purchases at Alipay+ partner establishments like Starbucks, Hyundai Duty Free Shop, Lotte, Line Friends, Shilla DFS, Haidiao, and Paris Baguette in Myeong-Dong, Dong Dae Moon, Hong Dae, Itaewon, and Seoul Namsan Tower.

Meanwhile, those in Malaysia can use GCash at convenience stores KK Mart and Happy Mart, as well as food stops like Tealive, Mydin, Dunkin Donut, and Bake with Yen.

In Japan, the e-wallet is accepted at retail and food merchants like Takashimaya, Isetan Shinjuku, Odakyu, Don Quixote, Rayard Miyashita Park, Tokyo Solamachi Mall, Ichiran Ramen, Kani-Doraku, and Kara Sushi in select cities of Shibuya, Asakusa, Shinjuki, and Odaiba.

To find out if the establishment will accept GCash payments, look for an in-store display of the Alipay+ sign. Then, open your GCash app and tap QR to scan the merchant's code. Users must also be verified to pay cashless abroad.

According to the app, it is working on expanding accepting payments in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, and Australia.
