Kris Aquino's kids Bimby and Josh visit Liza Marcos
It looks like Kris Aquino's children, Bimby and Josh, are forming a bond with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
On her social media accounts, Liza shared a series of pictures of herself hanging out with the grandsons of the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino in her office.
"Thank you for taking time off to visit me, Bimby and Josh," Liza wrote in her post.
"It was so nice to see you guys after all these years," she added. "[Love] my pasalubong!"
In one photo, Bimby is seen holding up a box of gifts with Marcos which contains what appears to be a small Hermes box.
Many social media users flooded the comments section of her post with praises for the boys' kind gesture towards Liza.
"An epitome of friendship and acceptance," one user wrote.
Another commented, "Wow! A new generation for peace."
The Aquinos and Marcoses
The Aquinos and the Marcoses are among the most prominent families in the realm of politics in the Philippines.
Former senator Benigno Aquino Jr. was a critic of the late Ferdinand Marcos Sr., current President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s father.
A leader in the opposition, Aquino was arrested when the older Marcos declared martial law in 1972 and spent eight years behind bars.
Following Aquino Jr.'s assassination in August 1983, his wife Corazon emerged as the opposition leader and went against Marcos Sr. in the 1986 snap elections, which led to the People Power Revolution ousting the latter.
She became president in 1986 as the Marcoses fled to Hawaii.
Caring for Kris
Bimby and Josh have been going back and forth to the Philippines and the US for some time as Kris seeks treatment abroad for her multiple autoimmune diseases.
Kris' youngest son Bimby recently talked to Ogie Diaz about how he's been coping with his mom's health. He told the showbiz columnist that it took him years to accept his mom's illness, admitting that there are times he feels "rattled" whenever Kris feels weak.
"Hindi ako Diyos, I can only do so much to alleviate her, to help her," he said.
"Pero at the end of the day, I can't fully take it away 'di ba? Kasi tao lang ako, tao lang si mama," he continued, adding, “All I can do is love her, support her, [and] take care of her."
No further details were given by Marcos' office or the Presidential Communications Office regarding Bimby and Josh's visit to the first lady.
