Want to be a K-pop star? SM Universe is holding auditions in Manila this September
Think you've got what it takes to be the next K-pop star? Now's your chance to prove yourself as an upcoming talent search will be held in Manila, where you can have the chance to win a training scholarship in Singapore.
In an announcement by SM Universe Singapore, a K-pop training academy established by SM Entertainment, the organization is teaming up with Sky Dance Avenue Manila to search for passionate young performers who want to take their skills to the next level.
Auditions will be held on Sept. 25 at the Music Museum in San Juan City, where qualified applicans will need to perform live on stage.
Video submissions are open until Sept. 4, with applicants aged seven to 18 able to audition in either the K-pop Dance or K-pop Vocal category. While K-pop song are recommended, they are not mandatory.
Participants will be divided into three age groups: 7 to 12 years old, 13 to 15 years old, and 16 to 18 years old.
Ready to join? Start by posting your entry to Instagram or TikTok, making sure the video is vertical, shows your full body, stays completely unedited, and runs no longer than 60 seconds.
Next, set up a public Google Drive folder using the format SMUSG COMPETITION_[FULLNAME]. Inside, drop your competition video alongside a clear, unedited photo showing your full face.
Finally, complete your entry by filling out the registration form through this link. Just paste your social media video link and public Drive folder link, then attach your proof of payment for the P3,800 entry fee.
One winner from each of the three age categories will score an incredible 1-week training scholarship valued at up to $1,300 (P80,334)!
