Ate Gay says doctors found a new lump on his neck amid cancer battle
Ate Gay revealed that doctors detected a new lump on his neck, which is now being treated with a new radiation therapy.
The comedian, whose real name is Gil Aducal Morales, recently shared a health update on July 9.
"Nakitaan ako ng bukol sa ibaba ng leeg ko malapit sa balikat na agad nila inagapan," he wrote, sharing that he would undergo five sessions of CyberKnife, a non-invasive radiation therapy used to treat cancerous and non-cancerous tumors, as well as other conditions requiring radiation treatment.
He went on to express his gratitude to his "angels" and doctors, who allowed him to perform despite the detection of the new lump.
"'Di naman maapektuhan ang energy ko dahil dito, pinapayagan nila ako magperform ng bonggang bongga," he added.
This came a little over a week after sharing that the lumps on his neck and nose had disappeared.
Ate Gay shared in 2025 that he had been diagnosed with mucoepidermoid squamous cell carcinoma, which, according to the Cleveland Clinic, is a rare cancer that usually affects salivary glands and presents itself as a slow-growing lump underneath the skin.
He said that after doing a show in Canada, the cancer underneath his right ear got bigger and began to bleed continuously.
"Mahirap ngayon ang lagay ko. May kanser ako, stage 4 daw. Magtatagal ba ang buhay ko? Ang sabi, hindi na daw ako aabutin ng 2026," Ate Gay said.
"Kaya ang sakit-sakit sa akin. Hindi na rin daw ako puwedeng operahan. Wala raw lunas. Masakit sa akin. Halos araw-araw umiiyak ako. Hindi naman ako nagkulang kay Lord," he lamented.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, the comedian shared that he was able to undergo treatment for his illness after one individual shouldered the costs of the chemotherapy and radiation at a top hospital.
Ate Gay rose to fame for his impersonations of Nora Aunor. The comedian is also loved for his hilarious song mash-ups and appearances in shows such as Eat Bulaga, Wowowillie, Celebrity Bluff, and more
