Kris Aquino's highly anticipated reunion interview with former co-host Boy Abunda has finally dropped. As part of a birthday special on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, she opened up about her ongoing health battle, love life, and a politics.

In the first half of the two-part interview, Aquino first shared a hopeful update, revealing that she is now experiencing "good days."

"Finally. Because when you visited us (in the US), there were no good days. But finally, now there are good days," she reflected.

The conversation later shifted to politics. Aquino, who comes from a prominent political family, expressed openness to entering public service, though she candidly noted, "Yes, but I'm not healthy."

She told Abunda, "My dad had always... parang 'yun 'yung akala ng dad ko na para sa akin, but we need a miracle." Aquino added that if she were ever appointed to a government position, she would likely be placed in the Department of Health.

"Kasi sa experience ko, Boy. And alam nilang hindi ako magnanakaw. And yung mapababa lang ang cost ng gamot ang laking bagay na. And maybe by not taxing the importation of medicine so high, we can already so affordable," she said.

Speaking on governance, Aquino expressed her belief that appointees to public office should be individuals who are already financially secure.

"Wala po ako sinasabi at pinariringgan ngayon, but I think we deserve honest public servants," noted Aquino.

She continued: "More than just PhilHealth sana meron talagang for the younger generation, because we're such a young country, na sana umpisahan with correct nutrition para the parents will send the kids to school kasi may libreng lunch, tapos may pa gatas, and you'll get smarter kids if they really get the right nutrition."

On her health

While discussing the extensive procedures required to manage her condition, Aquino highlighted the expensive costs of her illness, saying she gets by with the help of her friends and loved ones.

"Mahal na mahal siya, and I have to thank my siblings because it's been a family thing. I was so proud na itong September, (may) mga endorsements na pumasok," she said.

"And we're leasing where we're staying. It's the unit of Anne Curtis, and it was given at a ninang price because ninang siya ni Bimb. So masuwerte kami talaga in in that aspect because we need to be within 30 minutes of a tertiary hospital."

Aquino also emphasized her gratitude for life and the opportunity to watch her sons grow up. "It really helps a lot that I'm determined to stay alive," she shared.

"I know I'm alive now because so many have been praying for me and I want to say thank you to everyone," she said.

On her lovelife

Elaborating on her illness, Aquino shared a lighthearted story about a recent surgery. She revealed that while under anesthesia, she asked the operating doctor to hold her hand and kiss her on the lips. She openly admitted her attraction to medical professionals, sharing a funny conversation with her youngest son, Bimby, who called out her specific "type."

"'Mama, you have this thing, you have this type. If the person is a doctor, automatically that's your reason, and then or if the person watches CNN, then you like that person. But Mama, it shouldn't be because of. It should be just because,'" she quoted Bimby.

When asked how important is a man in her concept of happiness, Aquino said, "I want to end up with someone na kakampi ko... I still want a doctor."

Her ideal partner, she said, has to understand her health condition. She said she’d like someone who wouldn’t panic in a medical emergency, mentioning that she once stopped breathing for two minutes.

Aquino has been open about her ongoing battle with multiple autoimmune conditions, regularly updating supporters about her treatment and recovery.

Just recently, she revealed that two of her major organs require closer medical attention.

"I made a promise, I will stay honest but I will always have faith and I won’t give up. 2 of my major organs are needing more attention because prevention is always the best course of action. But this woman born on the day of hearts has 2 autoimmune diseases that can just attack out of nowhere," she wrote on an Oct. 27 post.
