'The Summer I Turned Pretty' production asks fans for privacy after filming leaks
As filming for the finale movie of The Summer I Turned Pretty continues, Prime Video is calling on fans to respect the privacy of the production after some were caught allegedly trying to visit the active set.
In a joint Instagram post by Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video, and the show’s official account, they reminded viewers to avoid going near filming locations to take photos and videos of the cast and crew.
"We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew," they wrote in the caption.
"We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared," they added.
The post showed a video where the words "Privacy Please" written in the sand at the beach could be seen.
The statement comes after photos and videos of the production have begun circulating online, showing lead stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno filming for their scenes.
The Summer I Turned Pretty movie is set to be the continuation of the romantic drama series of the same name. It was announced following the show's third and final season, which finished airing in September 2025.
Based on a novel trilogy written by Jenny Han, the series centers around 16-year-old Belly Conklin who spends her summers at Cousins Beach, where, as a child, she meets brothers Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher. The three grow up together, seeing each other every summer, and developing a deep friendship. Eventually, a love triangle develops, creating the fulcrum of the series.
The Summer I Turned Pretty has developed a strong following since its first season premiered. According to Prime Video, Season 3 debuted with a total of 24 million viewers worldwide within a week.
As of writing, no release date has been set for the film.
