Chinese New Year brings new beginnings—and hopefully prosperity and luck along with it.

In the past decade or so, it’s also been marked by limited-release merchandise from fashion’s biggest names, watchmakers, beauty brands, coffee shops and toymakers. 

From diamond-encrusted watches to individually painted ones, from ox tumblers to moisturizers, here are some of the best designs for the Year of the Ox.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton rolls out a full collection of ox-motif scarves and accessories. The LV Rodeo square shows an illustration of an ox surrounded by Louis Vuitton trunks with the border featuring rows of bells. When you get tired of the design, just flip it over for the monogram pattern as an alternative look.

Longchamp Le Pliage

In this CNY edition of Le Pliage, the surface of the mixed-race leather is the backdrop of a cow munching on a daisy stem. Available in black and pale pink, the silkscreen printed pattern gives it a feminine look and color contrast.

Tory Burch

The Ozzie the Ox bag features a colorful mix of canvas, pieced leather appliqués and polished brass hardware. And a huge sense of fun as you go with this ox bag everywhere.

Starbucks

As if the Christmas collection wasn’t enough, now there’s another set to obsess over. Starbucks has released merchandise with a cute version of the ox and botanicals in shades of gold, red and charcoal to reflect prosperity.

Michael Kors

Michael Kors’ capsule collection highlights the SoHo bag, which comes in new red or black tweed. The metallic threads, gold push-lock, and chain give the arm candy that extra shine and glam.

Gucci

Gucci has created a dedicated collection featuring Doraemon. The pop icon can be seen peppered all over the GG motif in bags, coats, shoes and other product categories.

Burberry

The lineup kicks off with a series of coats featuring an updated version of Ricardo Tisci’s Burberry logo with ox horns. The same design is seen throughout the collection on pieces such as knit cardigans and fitted shirts, handbags including the Pocket Bag, footwear, scarves, caps and an AirPods Pro case.

Coach

Coach has released an ox-jumping-over-the-moon motif in its ready-to-wear pieces, bags, and more. CNY red is the color throughout the collection.

Monopoly

The Monopoly Lunar New Year edition board game has players buying shops, collecting gifts and finding good fortune. There are places to buy like a Jade Shop, Flower Market, Firecracker Shop. The more shops a player owns, the more money they will get when opponents purchase gifts from their shops. At the end of the game, players can store the tokens, cards, dice, and money in the red envelopes.

LEGO 40417 

LEGO has been producing these cute models of Chinese Zodiac animals since 2015, at first releasing them only in Asia but now worldwide. This year’s model features a sitting ox with movable arms, legs and ears.

Clinique

Chinese New Year packaging—red with illustrations of the ox and flowers— can be seen across Clinique’s beauty collections. Its Dramatically Different moisturizer takes it a step further with a horned cap while its Cheek Pop Highlighter has the ox image on the powder.

Swatch

Swatch’s explores the concept of balance on the bezel of its CNY model, on which two phrases are printed: “Year of the Ox” and “Exist Together in Harmony.” The black silicone strap has a golden flame print both outside and inside.

Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute Buffalo

Wearing metal accessories is said to attract prosperity and success. Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute Buffalo comes in four pastoral timepieces using either miniature painting or relief engraving by the brand’s Ateliers d’Art.

Chopard L.U.C XP Urushi

Just 88 pieces of this watch have been produced. Chopard depicts the ox as a working animal pulling a cart. The dial has painted Urushi trees and gold dust added to the lacquer. They dial is made by the company Yamada Heiando and individually painted by lacquer artist Minori Koizumi. 

Piaget Limelight Stella

With a CNY-red strap, the watch features a blood-red moon phase complication featuring a star-filled night sky. The dial comes in a 36mm 18-karat rose gold case encircled with 126 brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel. There are also 14 brilliant-cut diamonds on the mother-of-pearl.
