PH's Fuschia Anne Ravena wears a national costume with a replica of her face to Miss International Queen
Seeing double? Fuschia Anne Ravena chose to wear a gown with an ornate doll for her national costume at the Miss International Queen 2022 pageant.
"IT'S FUSCHIA WEARING FUSCHIA," the candidate wrote on her Instagram post.
For her national costume, Ravena chose to wear a santacruzan-inspired piece by Cary Santiago to the world's biggest beauty pageant for transgender women. She said that the dress was "painstakingly hand stitch[ed] by more than a dozen workers."
The dress is made with intricate details and patterns of bosom flowers to represent a carriage used during flores de Mayo.
The main feature, however, is the doll that has an uncanny resemblance to the candidate.
"As the Philippines (specifically Cebu where Fuschia hails from), just recently celebrated its Quincentennial Commemoration (500 years) of the Magallanes-Elcano Expedition, the best way to pay tribute to this momentous event is by honoring one of the traditions we have been practicing, that stood not just in the worse, but most importantly, in the best of times!" she wrote.
Ravena is currently in Pattaya, Thailand for the Miss International Queen 2022 coronation night happening on June 25.
She is vying for the country's third crown, after Kevin Balot in 2012 and Trixie Maristela in 2015.
