Adidas x Bayongciaga woven bags spotlight Filipino craftsmanship
Traditional bayong bags get a sporty twist through a new collaboration between Adidas and Bayongciaga.
Created for International Women’s Month, the limited-edition woven bags reinterpret the traditional bayong using Adidas’ signature three stripes.
They are made from polypropylene, the same material commonly used in traditional bayong weaving, and come with Adidas acrylic hangtags. Each piece is 100% handwoven by artisan weavers from communities across the Philippines.

Bayongciaga works with different artisan communities, including around 30 Persons Deprived of Liberty weavers in Bataan who create the bags as part of a livelihood program. For its founder, Javier Villarruel, the collaboration is a meaningful milestone for the brand and the communities they work with.
“This is such a great opportunity for our local brand to be considered and tapped by Adidas for this campaign,” he said. “For the past 10 years, we’ve been working closely with Filipino weavers, leathercrafters, mananahi sa Tondo, and artists. Our team—made up of parents, single moms and dads, and working students—is grateful for the opportunity.”
The bags come in six colors—pink, purple, blue, matte gold, white, and black—and are available as a limited promotion from March 8 to 22 at select Urban Athletics, Sole Academy, Sports Central, Robinsons stores, Capital stores, ABC Mart, Planet Sports One Ayala, and online via Zalora.
It's not for sale, but it comes free with every single-receipt minimum spend of P6,000.
Bayongciaga is located at La Fuerza Plaza on Chino Roces Avenue in Makati and online at bayongciaga.com.
