Just a week away from Halloween, these GMA stars channeled their favorite characters in the most grand, spooky, and wittiest ways possible.
Famous faces from the network made sure to sparkle in their eye-catching ensembles at the annual Sparkle Spell Halloween party held in XYLO at The Palace on Oct. 22.
From Jak Roberto and David Licauco’s matching Zoro costumes to Derrick Monasterio’s grand entrance, here are other celebrities who stood out in their “Frightening Fabulous” Halloween costumes.
Barbie Forteza as Daenerys Targaryen
Opting to go solo, Barbie Forteza looked fierce and royal channeling Queen Daenerys from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, wearing a silk royal blue ensemble with khaki boots, complete with Daenerys' iconic blonde hair.
"Gusto ko 'yung isang dialogue niya na, 'I'm not going to stop the wheel. I'm going to break the wheel, I will do what queens do. I will rule,’” she shared in an interview with GMA News.
She was also among the Sparkle Stars of the Night.
Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose as Fred and Daphne
Reel and real-life couple Julie Anne and Rayver nailed their Daphne and Fred costumes from the animated comedy-mystery film/series Scooby Doo. Ivor Jullian styled Rayver, while Julie Anne was styled by Studio 24c. The two also released a campy video that perfectly captured the essence of their characters.
With this, they won the Most Fabulous Couple of the Night.
Jillian Ward and Ken Chan in gothic costumes
Abot-Kamay na Pangarap stars Jillian and Ken looked bold in goth wearing their all-black ensembles with striking wings.
Jillian bagged the Most Spooktacular Smile from Urban Smile award and was among the I AMazing Looks of the Night winners.
Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay as spooky Barbie and Ken
The Raya Sirena stars relived the Barbie fever while at the same time keeping the spooky vibe by dressing up as zombie Barbie and Ken dolls. Last year, the two also nailed their Halloween costumes by dressing up as the dead yet adorable couple from The Corpse Bride. Their cute ensembles gained them their TikTok Crowd Favorites award.
Gaea Mischa in MUPh 2014 MJ Lastimosa's iconic national costume
Does this Filipiniana ring a bell? Gaea relived MJ Lastimosa’s iconic national costume in Miss Universe 2015, complete with an exaggerated flower crown and the vibrant colors of flower adornments, inspired by Baguio's Panagbenga Festival.
In case you didn’t know, the infamous national costume was memorable as others previously pointed out it cost MJ’s chance of winning the crown.
MJ reacted to the costume, quipping "Panaginip lang ito. PLEASE."
Roxie Smith as Taylor Swift from Eras Tour
Former beauty queen-actress Roxie Smith is indeed a Swiftie, wearing Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer outfit from the "Eras Tour." From hair styled by Jomari Garcia, and makeup by Gwenn de Lara, to the bedazzled one-piece suit by Jomar Peralta, she totally nailed the pop superstar look!
Jak Roberto and David Licauco as Roronoa Zoro
Who wore it better? Jak and David graced the carpet wearing the same Roronoa Zoro costume.
Despite the same outfits, the two made sure to stand out on their own. Jak donned an outfit by designer Mark Dela Peña and groomed by makeup artist Fatima Mercado.
David, meanwhile, wore a costume by Chynna Mamawal and was styled by David Milan.
Sassa Gurl as a funeral flower standee
Sassa made sure to steal the spotlight when she donned a funeral flower standee-inspired costume, complete with ribbon with texts “Condolences” and “From: Congressman.”
She styled the witty costume with a blush pink lace train and strutted the black carpet with nude pink heels adorned with red roses, as styled by Ian Rey. She was hailed as one of the Stars of the Night.
Derrick Monasterio as Achilles
Derrick surely did not come to play as he just entered the carpet in his Achilles costume.
Staying true to his character as Achilles from the epic historical war film Troy, he even rented a real horse! "Last minute na 'yung horse pero binook ko na kasi ang ganda na ng outfit,” he shared in his interview with GMA News.
"Favorite movie ko rin kasi 'yung Troy, so I [dressed up as] Achilles," he added.
Derrick won the night bagging the Black Carpet Stunner award.
