LOOK: UNIQLO's new service offering lets you adorn your clothes with cute embroidery
Ever felt like there's something missing in your OOTDs?
One way to add an oomph or a personal touch to your outfits is through embroidery. If you enjoy making your fashion looks unique, there's a place where you can get your garments embroidered with a wide collection of fun designs, patterns, and colors.
PhilSTAR L!fe had the chance to check out the new service offering by UNIQLO at the fashion brand's Manila Global Flagship Store in Glorietta 5.
In celebration of the first anniversary of Re.UNIQLO Studio, the Japanese fashion retailer decided to upgrade this initiative by adding an embroidery service, allowing you to customize your style with a vast array of over 80 design selections to go with 20 different text and fonts.
Through the embroidery service, you can personalize your favorite shirt with your dog’s silhouette or your pants with your initials with tons of options. Some of the things you can put are pets, flowers, food, seasonal themes, and more.
The designs can also be used to cover up small to medium holes, helping extend the life of your clothes. Keep in mind, however, that the service is only available for both old and new items from UNIQLO's LifeWear selection.
How to get your clothes embroidered
To avail of the service, you must first select the UNIQLO product that you want to personalize. If it's new, make sure to pay for the item before requesting embroidery. Take note that clothes made out of nylon fabric, underwear, thick outerwear, graphic t-shirts, and other designer collaborations are not eligible for it.
You can choose between having a text or illustration, or both, to be stitched onto your fashion pieces.
The price per illustration is fixed at P250, while the text varies according to the size of the item and character length. Small and medium sizes with three to five letters are at P200, six to ten letters at P250, and large-sized text (up to three) are also at P250.
For the placement, you can choose to have the embroidery stitched on the upper left part, below the collar, or on the sleeve. But if you're not happy with these, you can contact the store's staff for more options on where to position the designs.
Once the embroidery is processed, you can no longer return or exchange the product, so be sure that you're happy with your choices before the deed is done.
Along with the launch of the embroidery service, UNIQLO has also upgraded the menu for their in-store coffee shop with four new items that are made of locally sourced quality coffee beans and mix Filipino and Japanese flavors.
For drinks, you can try the Matcha Cheesecake Latte and Choco Berry Latte for P180 each. For food options, there’s the new Melon Pan and Coffee Pan for P90 each.
Apart from embroidery, UNIQLO's Manila Global Flagship Store also offers hole repair, button repair and frayed jean repair on t-shirts, knitwear, tops and assorted bottoms.
