This beauty brand lets you create your own beauty products and earn from it
If you’re a beauty enthusiast (or a newbie), chances are you’ve tried DIY-ing your own product once in your life. Or, maybe, bought an item not because you need it, but because you just want it—the packaging caught your attention, your favorite influencer is using it, your friend has recommended it, or it was on sale! But not all products fit everyone’s needs. Have you ever wondered, “Where can I get products that cater to what I can really use?”
Consider your prayers answered because the ladies at Volition Beauty understands you. In 2016, beauty industry veterans Brandy Hoffman and Patricia Santos have decided to build a brand that is fully crowd-sourced, meaning they give real people—or what they call “innovators”—a chance to submit their pitches and help make it come to life.
One innovator named Lindsay said, “They ask the consumers, ‘What do you need, what you want, let's create it together. It's turned the beauty industry on its head.
This program is open to anyone. After submitting your pitch through their website and it gets accepted, Volition Beauty will help you develop the product more, and will leave the decision to the Volition community as they join the waitlist.
The most pre-orders will then be created with the help of the brand and be sold online or at retailers like Sephora and Cult Beauty. But that’s not the best part as Volition Beauty will share part of the sales from your product.
“I don’t know why someone hasn’t thought of this sooner honestly. Because you're giving the people what they want,” said Alice, an innovator.
To date, there more than 20 products that were created by innovators, including a Celery Green Cream, Yaupon Tea Glow-Awakening Moisturizer, and Neroli Complete Crème.
For innovators, this opportunity has fulfilled many dream. “Being the innovator of this product has just been incredible. It's fulfilling so many of my childhood dreams,” shared Alice.
