LOOK: Miss Canada Nova Stevens wears gowns by two Pinoys for a photo shoot
Despite the uncalled-for remarks she got from some Filipino netizens, Pinoys still have a special place in Miss Universe Canada Nova Stevens' heart. In a photoshoot done in Dubai, Stevens wore three gowns by not one, but two Filipino designers.
The first was a bright marigold tiered gown by none other than Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco. It is from the designer's couture collection called The Impalpable Dream of Swan Lake.
"Running toward my destiny. I’m ready for whatever the universe has in store for me," Stevens captioned in one of her posts.
The second one is from Cinco as well. It was an electric blue ruffled tiered gown from the same collection, which stood out amid the beautiful rust-colored canyon range backdrop.
And finally, the third gown is by Jaggy Glarino, who was tapped by Cinco to dress the beauty queen in one of their layouts. According to Glarino, this gown was from his L'émancipation bridal collection and was made of 360 yards of fabric. "A few weeks ago, I've dreamt of this piece and I didn't have the slightest clue what it is for," he said. "I couldn't be more glad to have succumb to the vision. Words couldn't express how grateful I am for this opportunity. Thank you for sharing a portion of your spotlight with me Mademoiselle @michaelcinco5," Glarino added.
But the partnership with Stevens and Cinco doesn't end there. As it turns out, the evening gown that the Canadian beauty will wear to the upcoming pageant is also by Cinco. Cinco said in an interview that the beauty queen "messaged me directly and asked me to design her evening gown.”
Stevens also posted a teaser video during her visit to Cinco's atelier in Dubai, captioning it: "Can you guess which gowns I will be wearing at Miss Universe from Michael Cinco?”
