LOOK: The Top 48 Miss Universe Philippines candidates sparkle in elegant glam shots

We’re one step closer to finding out who will win the Miss Universe Philippines crown! 

After the runway and casting video challenges, the Miss Universe Philippines organization announced on Sunday, Aug. 22, the Top 48 candidates who will move to the next stage of the pageant. 

The 48 delegates were selected from the Top 75 hopefuls. Over a two-week period, pageant fans voted for the candidates’ runway and casting video challenges through the Miss Universe Philippines app. 

“The selection was based on the total fan votes from the two challenges along with those from the MUP Organization,” a representative from Miss Universe Philippines told PhilSTAR L!fe.

The Top 48 candidates include Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz of Pangasinan, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Kisses Delavin of Masbate, social media star Ayn Bernos of San Juan City, Cebu Province's Steffi Aberasturi, Taguig City's Katrina Dimaranan, Laguna's Leren Mae Bautista, and Mandaluyong City's Maria Corazon Abalos. 

The 48 candidates will put their “wits and spontaneity to the test” in the upcoming interview challenge that will be judged by a panel of experts. The ladies will then be trimmed to the final 30 candidates which will be announced on Aug. 31. 

The final 30 delegates will compete on the pageant’s coronation night on Sept. 25.
