Celebrate POP MART Molly's 20th anniversary with these cute Uniqlo tees
It’s a jolly March for POP MART Molly fans!
In time for the character's 20th anniversary, Uniqlo and POP MART collaborated to create a UT collection with colorful designs.
Created by Hong Kong artist Kenny Wong in 2006, Molly grew popular because of her unique outfits, wide blue eyes, and iconic pout.
“This collection gracefully showcases MOLLY in an artistically refined style, carrying a timeless sentimental value meant to be cherished,” Uniqlo said about the collection.
Molly is among the popular characters available in blind boxes at POP MART alongside Labubu, Hirono, Skullpanda, Peach Riot, Crybaby, and more.
The t-shirts, available in adult and kids' sizes, feature designs like Molly in different outfits.
Before Molly, Uniqlo's partnership with POP MART created t-shirts featuring Labubu, Skullpanda, and Dimoo.
Wong previously shared that the inspiration for Molly first came to him at Victoria Peak in Hong Kong.
"Molly actually has a personality very similar to Hong Kong's. Her appearance is highly changeable with great flexibility and adaptability, and at the same time, a strong sense of the times," he said in a video interview posted on POP MART's YouTube channel.
"She has big eyes looking far into the distance. She has her own ideas, her own vision."
He further explained that she's actually not pouting but biting her lower lip. "It gives a kind of stubborn feeling that once she decides what to do, she will definitely do it and do it in the best way possible," he added.
The UNIQLO x POP MART Molly UT Collection is now available online and in stores.
