Ahead of Miss Universe 2023's coronation night, the candidates made sure to strut and stun in their bedazzled evening gowns during the competition's preliminaries.
84 beauty queens from around the globe wowed the audience with their looks and passerella in the show held on Thursday, Nov. 16 (Philippine time) in El Salvador.
Philippines’ Michelle Dee donned a Mark Bumgarner’s emerald green gown with sultry cut-outs, bedazzled with 30,000 green and black Swarovski crystals to resemble the skin of a green viper—which symbolizes “wisdom, power, and transformation.”
Making her Miss Universe journey more meaningful, Michelle personally picked the color to pay tribute to her mom, Melanie Marquez, who won Miss International in 1979.
Apart from vying for the country’s fifth Miss Universe crown, Michelle is also in the race for the gold “Voice for Change” award, which will be announced on the coronation night.
