LOOK: Hannah Arnold channels Barbie in Filipiniana costume for Miss International 2022
Hannah Arnold looked like a living Barbie doll at the national costume segment of Miss International 2022.
The country’s bet rocked a Filipiniana outfit dubbed “Pamana,” which translates to “heritage” in English. It was inspired by her favorite toy that she received from her mother in her yesteryears—a Barbie doll wearing a Maria Clara Filipiniana.
In bringing this brilliant idea to life, designer Manny Halasan took inspiration from the gift “and mixed it with his own fond childhood memories of his grandfather’s antique tambourine.” The Pinoy creative said he “wants us to remember our childhood experiences and look back on our past through this classic traditional Filipiniana.”
Manny also came up with a lovely headpiece or “payneta” to elevate the 26-year-old beauty queen’s NATCOS look, featuring “real gold with natural diamonds, blue diamonds, and South Sea pearl.”
The Filipino-Australian beauty is set to vie for the highly coveted Miss International title on Dec. 13 in Japan, aiming to take home the seventh crown for the Philippines.
Best of luck, Hannah!
