Alex Gonzaga graces the cover of ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ Vietnam’s 10th anniversary issue
Alex’s cover shoot for the magazine was executed by an all-Filipino creative team.
For the past few years, actress and vlogger Alex Gonzaga has gained much following online. Her eponymous YouTube channel has a massive 10.8 million subscribers and almost one billion views, and she has an 11 million followers on Instagram.
On Sunday, July 4, Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam revealed Alex as one of its covers for the magazine’s 10th anniversary issue. Also with a cover on the issue are Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, Hollywood producer Jojo Ryder, Miss Global 2020 Karolína Kokešová, model Ngoc Lan Vy, and K-pop group Got7 member Choi Youngjae.
According to the magazine, every day for its anniversary month of July, it will feature a star on its cover.
“Please pinch me. This is not even in my checklist but grabe!!!” Alex posted on Instagram Sunday.
The cover shoot was executed by an all-Filipino creative team, starting with master lensman Seven Barretto of Studio 7 Manila, makeup by Carissa Cielo Medved, hairstyling by Jerry Javier, art direction and set design by Erwin Botin, and fashion styling by Cath Sobrevega and Kristen Langingin.
Among those who congratulated Alex on her achievement were her sister Toni Gonzaga and brother-in-law Paul Soriano, news anchor Karen Davila, actress Maja Salvador, Heart Evangelista and stylist Liz Uy.
The magazine described Alex as a multi-hyphenate artist who enjoys the many hats she wears—television host, actress, singer, comedian, entrepreneur, vlogger, and author.
The cover story detailed Alex’s career in show business, her married life with husband Mikee Morada, and how her vlogs and social media posts draw a sense of closeness to her fans.
Alex also shared with the magazine how her family has become a solid foundation to her success. In her vlogs, aside from her candid interviews with celebrities, Alex also includes her family members in most episodes, which endears her to fans even more.
On married life, she revealed that as she and her husband are in the process of completing their new home, both of them are currently living with her parents in Taytay, Rizal. “Living with your husband in the room you grew up in is also fun!” she shared with the magazine.
Alex joins notable Filipinas who have graced the covers of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam. In January 2018, three Filipina beauty queens landed on the magazine’s cover: Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, and Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa.
Ann Curtis also graced the magazine’s cover on its seventh anniversary in 2018.
