TRENDING: Santa Claus falls in love with a man in heartwarming ad dubbed ‘When Harry Met Santa’
A postal service's Christmas commercial is now making the rounds online as it shows Santa Claus finding love in a man.
Dubbed “When Harry Met Santa,” the four-minute film follows the heartwarming story of Santa and Harry who used to meet every year only during Christmas. To ease his hectic holiday schedule and make time for his budding romance with Harry this year, Santa decides to partner with postal service Posten for deliveries.
“It has been a dark year for everyone—a global pandemic, code red for our planet, refugee crisis, and more,” marketing director Monica Solberg told LGBTQ Nation.
“Perhaps what we need this year is a warm and heartfelt love story? A celebration of the fact that we can love whoever we want in Norway, despite everything bad that happens around the world,” she continued.
The holiday ad garnered mixed reactions on social media. Some netizens tweeted that it didn’t sit well with them.

Most of the responses, however, are positive. Rufus Gifford—former United States ambassador to Denmark—wrote on Twitter: “Oh man I love Scandinavia. Imagine if the US Post Office put out an ad like this.”

Novelist Patrick Gale called it “the best festive tearjerker I’ve seen in ages.”
Well I think this is quite the best festive tearjerker I’ve seen in ages, and manages to feature no sleigh-bells but an ancient Christmas hymn, which is tasteful. https://t.co/5JEeZJtyrc

The touching video was made in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in Norway. It has reached over a million views as of this writing.
