Angry, betrayed: Crisha Uy reacts to news of ex-bf Joem Bascon’s romance with Meryl Soriano
Vlogger Crisha Uy let it all out and opened up about what she felt about her ex-boyfriend Joem Bascon’s just-announced relationship with actress Meryl Soriano.
In a video titled “Reacting to Comments About ME and My EX (LAST NA TO HA?)” uploaded on her YouTube channel on Sunday, Jan. 17, Crisha revealed that she had known about Joem and Meryl’s romance even before the actress posted about it on her Instagram.
“Yung totoo, alam ko talaga. Alam ko na yun,” she said on her vlog.
Crisha also said: “Alam ko na yung totoo. Alam ko yung relationship nila (and) their bundle of blessing, long way before pa na-upload yan.”
Crisha did not mention Joem and Meryl by name, on the video. However, it is clear that the “ex” she was talking about on the video is Joem.
Crisha and Joem were in a relationship for eight years before their well-reported breakup in late 2019. Their split coincided with rumors claiming that Joem has gotten back together with Meryl. Joem was in a relationship with Meryl over 10 years ago.
On New Year’s Day, Meryl revealed that she has a newborn child, and that she has reconciled with Joem.

Crisha said that reading about the relationship made her feel angry and betrayed.
“Nagalit ako. Nagalit ako kasi bumalik yung feelings ko na I was betrayed all over again,” Crisha said on her vlog. "Iba pala yung feeling na nakita mo versus yung kinuwento or chinika lang sa ‘yo.”
“Parang feeling ko kasi kailangan ko ilabas yung naramdaman ko that day, yung galit ko, yung sakit na yun, kung ano man yung naramdaman ko that day. Hindi dahil mahal ko pa siya—kasi nakamove on na ako e. Ano lang, finally, finally na-confirm ko na nagsinungaling talaga siya noon. Na I was lied to.”
She added: “Kasi I gave them the benefit of the doubt before. Pero sampal pala sa mukha noong nakita ko yun. Sampal sa mukha na tama pala yung hinala ko noon,”
Crisha noted, however, that she has already “cried out” the heartbreak over her split with Joem.
“Naiyak ko na yan noong 2019 pa. 2021 na so let’s move on,” she said.
She added, “Proseso talaga ang lahat, You know, somewhere along the way, talagang madadapa tulad ng hurdles na ganito. Pero hindi ibig sabihin, magpatalo ka sa emotions mo.”
Her takeaway from all of this? “Ang importance ng honesty,” she said.
"Dapat honest din kayo sa isang failure sa isang relationship, kahit sa breakup stage, kahit masakit,” Crisha explained. "Kasi if may honesty, may maiiwan na respeto sa isa't isa."
