How to attract luck into your life in the Year of the Wood Dragon 2024

It's officially the Year of the Wood Dragon.

Wondering how you can have a lucky 2024? Being aware of what the stars have in store for you is a good start as you can use them as a guide in taking action and making decisions in different aspects of your life—be it career, health, wealth, even love. Chinese metaphysics master and feng shui expert Joey Yap recently shared his predictions for every zodiac animal sign with PhilSTAR L!fe this year, but noted the importance of "matching the good stars with good actions to get good outcome."

One of the things that you can do to attract good fortune is to make use of feng shui, which is "metaphysical science where one learns to recognize and tap into the Qi (cosmic energies) of the living environment to help the many endeavors in life."

"Feng shui, together with your own efforts, will activate the positive feelings within you," he told L!fe.

According to Yap, the best two sectors this year are the Southwest and East. "If the Southwest sector is where you work, don’t sleep there because sleeping is a non-active thing—it’s passive so you can’t control it. But if you’re working, you’re controlling yourself, you’re controlling your weight so you get to use the energies in a positive way."

"You want to be able to work in the Southwest zone, in the Southwest area of your home for coming up with a new project, a new idea. You want to use that area to get inspiration," he explained. "If you’re looking for helpful people, you’re looking for teachers, mentors, someone who can inspire you, then do your calling and research in the East area."

"Water in the Southwest or water in the East can facilitate that energy, but again, you need to match it internally," he continued.

Yap said that Tiger and Monkey clash in this year's chart, and it could lead to panic and swift conclusions. It can also be difficult to manage emotions, but he highlighted that it's the best thing you can do to remain calm, improve your credibility, and gain the respect of other people.

A negative clash known as Bing-Geng could also give many a hard time to let go of what's no longer serving them and welcome new things into their lives. Per Yap, it's important not to resist change in any way and be open to fresh approaches such as artificial intelligence and other innovations that could make life easier for you in one way or another.

The Wu-Jia clash, meanwhile, could spark some sort of identity crisis among the older generation and make the young have second thoughts on their capabilities. This is the time to determine your strengths and figure out how you can make the most of them as you add value to other people's lives.

Yap told L!fe it's "super easy" to attract luck after all as it is "a form of energy."

"If you feel constantly that you are unhappy, that you are disadvantaged, and your internal storyline is a sad story, then you'll have bad luck. What’s good luck? Good luck is when you feel good about yourself. When you actually, genuinely feel good without the need to show the whole world that you’re feeling good," he said.

"If you can manage that genuinely—the internal energy—good things will happen for you, not to you. Life happens for you. But if you feel constantly suppressed, then life happens to you, a lot of bad things could happen to you. That’s how you can have a fantastic year," he added.
