Michelle Madrigal and Troy Woolfolk are breaking up after about two years of marriage, the couple announced Friday, August 13, with their own statements.

Sharing a photo of themselves, Madrigal said they “have been separated and are going through divorce.”

“Of course, we have remained friends and co-parents to our beautiful daughter Anika. We only wanted to share this to be transparent due to the amount of DM’s and comments we get from y’all,” she said.

Meanwhile, Woolfolk, a fitness instructor in the US, slam those who are asking about their relationship status, but is speaking out to “prevent confusion.”

“It’s a shame that I even have to make this post but a lot of people have been so dang intrusive in my life and not letting me live so I felt forced to validate something that is really none of their business,” he wrote.

But he says there’s “no drama” and that he and Madrigal are “still cool.”

“We're still working on the logistics of that but ultimately we decided that we're probably better friends than husband and wife,” he said in his short video.

He added that he still loves her, her family, and their 3-year-old daughter Anika Austin, whom they will co-parent together.

“We still have that friendship. Just not companionship in a sense of marriage,” Woolfolk said.

The former actress also wrote that she hopes the public will give them “the space” and “respect” their decision.

“We thank y’all for all the love and support you have given The Woolfolk family. We will always have love for each other and cherish the good times rather than the bad ones,” she ended.

Madrigal and Woolfolk tied the knot in April 2019 in Austin, Texas, USA.

They first met in 2016 when Madrigal went to Texas to study culinary arts. Then got engaged in July 2017, two months after she announced her pregnancy.
