Want to be a travel content creator and live in Dubai? Check out this new academic program
Are you an aspiring travel content creator? Entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey launched Beautiful Destinations Academy—an academic program that aims to nurture tourism content creators in Dubai while giving them the chance to live and work there later on.
Beautiful Destinations Academy, in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism or Visit Dubai, aims to "[provide] learners with top-tier education through expert-led training, practical assignments, and exclusive networking opportunities."
"[W]e aim to inspire and develop the future leaders of travel content creation," the academy said.
Interested applicants may submit videos under 60 seconds that highlight their unique perspectives on travel, culture, or adventure here until April 24.
The academy said the submissions will be evaluated by industry experts, including top photographers and videographers from the Beautiful Destinations creative team, as well as influential figures from Visit Dubai.
While there's no eligibility criteria, the academy pointed out that the nature of the work involves outdoor activity and filming in locations that may be remote. There may also be a need to capture content at sunrise and sunset, which may involve "potentially long hours."
Four applicants will be chosen to become part of Beautiful Destinations Academy. They will receive an all-expenses-paid trip, including accommodation, to the city.
The program will take place in May and will last for three months. Over the course of the program, participants are set to work closely with some of the leading content creators in the travel industry.
They will get comprehensive training on photography and cinematography; editing and color grading; sound design and music; and innovation through visual effects and artificial intelligence.
The program will also cover real-world applications and professional development of creating content for travel.
Upon finishing it, the new travel content creators will receive a certificate of participation from the Dubai College of Tourism. They will also have the chance to live and work in Dubai later on. Know more about the program here.
