United States of America’s Abena Appiah is Miss Grand International 2020

Abena Appiah bagged the highly coveted title at this year’s Miss Grand International competition, which was held on Saturday, March 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.

She walked the MGI stage in a lovely Thai-inspired gown by THEE-SI Couture. “Abena loves Thailand. She spent several months learning Thai. So we asked ourselves, ‘If she loves Thailand so much, why don’t we just put her in a Thai-inspired evening gown put together with Thai silk?’ She could be (and she is in our opinion) the ambassador of Thailand,” the brand shared in an Instagram post.

This makes her the seventh candidate to clinch the crown since the pageant’s 2013 launch. 

Samantha Bernardo of the Philippines won first runner-up, while Ivana Batchelor of Guatemala won second runner-up at the tilt.
