Patrick J. Adams and Abigail Spencer defend 'Suits' co-star Meghan Markle amid bullying allegations
Ahead of the premier of the much-awaited about sit-down interview of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with Oprah this Mar. 7, news that the Buckingham Palace launches probe into Markle’s bullying allegations broke the internet. However, the Duchess of Sussex’ former Suits co-stars Patrick J. Adams and Abigail Spencer are not having it and have come out in support of the former actress.
In a series of tweets, Adams shared that he is “sickened” to read “endless racist, slanderous, click baiting vitriol” that the media is throwing at Markle, and called the Royal Family “obscene” for spewing bullying accusations against a pregnant member of the family.
A few days ago, The Times reported that a senior member of Kensington Palace staff has filed a bullying complaint against the duchess, claiming that Markle “drove two personal assistants out of the household and was undermining the confidence of a third staff member.”
Adams just couldn't believe these claims, and has described his on-screen love interest-turned-friend as “enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful, and supportive.”
“She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear. Like the rest of the world, I have watched her navigate the last few years in astonishment,” Adams added.
Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits. From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued.

Adams also pointed out the toxicity of being part of a family that wouldn’t let “two people enjoy the magical early months and years of starting a family”.
“But we don’t live on that planet,” he added.
He concluded saying that the Palace should “find someone else to admonish, berate and torment.” Adams added, “My friend Meghan is way out of your league.”

Another Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer, also came to her defense. While Spencer thinks it’s for the duchess to tell her own story, she feels she needs to “present something real” about her long-time friend.
“She’s what I’d call ‘an on-call friend.’ At the ready,” Spencer wrote on her lengthy Instagram post. “She’s modeled nothing but generous professionalism on sets and an even more generous friendship in private.”
Spencer shared how Markle has “always been a safe harbor” for her and a friend whom she learned so much from, recalling past memories with the Duchess of Sussex. She also described her as someone who is “bright and exude such deep purpose.”

“She was all of this from the moment I met her fourteen years ago. And remains so to this day,” Spencer said of Markle.
Spencer concluded: “Meg walks the walk. She’s a doer. In the face of darkness, she shows up in light and in love. When they go low, she goes high. Again and again. She works tirelessly - and often quietly - for the causes she believes in. She writes her own speeches. She and Harry are an incredible team. They are dedicating their lives to lifting up and amplifying those who do not have a voice for themselves.”
