It’s always a good idea to make time for learning and self-development.

If you want to learn more about something or simply keep your skills and knowledge current, you might want to consider taking short courses even when you’re just at home.

The UP Open University is offering 23 short courses with five additional multimedia production courses that you can complete at your own pace and convenience without a cost.

The Massive Open Online Courses, which are free, self-paced, and open to everyone, include interesting subjects that could “serve your personal and educational goals” such as gender sensitivity, basic graphic design, parenting, crisis management, social entrepreneurship, strategic planning, and video editing, among others.

“At the end of each course, e-certificates will be awarded to course completers, which you may include in your resume as a 16-hour training,” the UPOU said.

To enroll in the courses, you need to have a MODeL account by following the steps below, as provided by the UPOU:

  • Register for an account here.
  • Fill up all required fields accurately.
  • Click on "Create My New Account."
  • An email will be sent to your email so that you can confirm your account.
  • After confirming your account, you can now log in.

"Using your MODeL account, browse through the featured courses section and select the courses you want to enroll in when they open in February," the UPOU added.

The University of the Philippines Open University has been offering online teaching and learning for years, and "continues to play a leading role in the study and practice of open learning and distance education in the Philippines." It offers courses in different formats and styles.
