Teen finds out anonymous online bully is her own mother after a year

Getting bullied and harassed online is one thing, but finding out that the one behind it is actually your own parent is another.

That’s what happened to a minor in Michigan, who discovered that the one who anonymously cyberbullied her for one whole year is her mother, 42-year-old Kendra Gail Licari.

David Barberi, a prosecutor for Isabella County, said that FBI analysts tracked Licari via IP addresses that got linked to the derogatory messages that began in early 2021. They totaled around 349 pages of SMS as part of a catfishing scheme, in which she also allegedly used VPNs and teen slang words so she would not get caught.

After a series of investigations that began in Dec. 2021, the latter got charged with two counts of stalking a minor, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime, and one count of obstruction of justice in Isabella County.

Licari, who has reportedly admitted to cyberbullying her own daughter, is set to be in court again on Dec. 29 to determine if there’s ample evidence for trial.
