These fitness studios are closing soon, but they're offering discounts and free classes

The pandemic has been a big challenge for any business. The fitness industry, however, has been hit hard and is still struggling to adapt with the changes.

Restrictions for retail, food, and travel have eased up a bit, but gyms and fitness centers are still closed indefinitely, leaving them in a state of limbo. With studios closed since March of last year, streaming classes from the comforts of our homes has become our new normal.

While many fitness studios have been able to stay afloat, others have been less fortunate. Sadly, some had to permanently shut their doors over the course of this past year.

Below, we list down the local fitness studios that are closing, and include how you can avail of their services one last time.

Beyond Yoga

Popular yoga studio Beyond Yoga has announced that they will soon cease operations. They also thanked their patrons for joining them in their 10-year journey.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the end of operations for Beyond Yoga," they said in a statement last Sept. 29. "With your help, we managed to stay afloat for a little over a year through digital classes. Unfortunately, this pandemic has pushed us beyond our limits."

Beyond Yoga, which has five studios across Metro Manila, offers daily yoga classes, Zumba, AntiGravity aerial yoga, and other fitness classes. They shifted to digital when the lockdown started, offering live yoga classes.

Beyond Yoga is currently offering free classes this Oct. 23, Saturday, and Oct. 24, Sunday, which you can join by registering at

Plana Forma

After 11 long years, PlanaForma, the first boutique fitness studio in the Philippines, announces that it will be closing its doors this November.

When it first opened in 2010, it had a goal of "build[ing] a community wherein we could share our love for fitness, movement and the barre technique. Creating long, lean muscles together with the strongest minds was top priority." They then became known for their 55-minute barre technique workout that has a combination of dance, pilates and yoga.

Since the pandemic in March 2020, the studio—like many others—shifted to online classes and on-demand streaming classes. However, despite the support from Thigh Warriors, PlanForma will be closing for good.

"It is with a heavy pulsing heart that Plana Forma will be pulsing its last Forma at Home (live) class on November 25," they said in the announcement.

"We are truly grateful to have been able to help each and everyone of you from 2010 to 2021, and have always cherished the trust that you gave us throughout this journey. Pulsing alongside our community of strong and determined Thigh Warriors and helping everyone Build the Body You Love has been our greatest honour," they wrote on Instagram.

As they close, PlanaForma is offering a 50% off on Forma Fit and Forma At Home Monthly Unli through their website. Forma Barres are less P2,500 also, which you can now get for P12,500 after discount.

Forma on Demand will continue to be available until December 25, 2021.
